Breeding Mission Statement
Devine West
Ranch's breeding program consists of
producing alpacas of natural color, other
than white, while focusing primarily on the
hard to produce colors of gray and true
black.
Fleece density
is a high priority to get well above average
fleece weights (this is part of the Accoyo
breeding program). Finally our males must
be solidly built with a majestic appearance.
* The above discounted breeding prices are available to female alpacas purchased from Devine West Ranch and their offspring, regardless of the alpacas sire.

Black Magic is a gentle easy
to handle male. His solid true black coloring is of the
most difficult to breed for. He has one white spot on the
back of one leg. With his beautiful majestic stance, he
looks very proud with his head high, ears and tail erect.
He has
been the stud for our females, since 2004. He has produced
beautiful show quality crias.
Unfortunately we have been unable to show him, due to
travelling restrictions.
A
daughter of his, from a bartered breeding, Sarah Lee came in
third
in her class at Alpaca Ontario, there were at least ten entries. Black Magic is 1/2 Peruvian Accoyo. Accoyo's are from the world famous line of alpacas from Peru that have gone through a very selective breeding process since the 1940's, designed by Don Julio Barreda http://www.accoyo.org/ . The Accoyo's are considered some of the best alpacas in the world. His sire is Peruvian Accoyo's Juliaca (photo to the right), from Westwool Alpaca's in British Columbia. He was purchased directly from Peru. His dam is LCDA Mira (Black Chilean Import).

Buckwheat has a very impressive pedigree, with Acero Marka's
Rockamundo, Snowmass Angel, Aztec Outback (nominated at the 2008
futurity), Victor's Vaccoyo, and Peruvian Hemingway. He is a
solidly built male, and still growing, with lots of fibre. His
shear weight for 2008 was 10 lbs at 2 years of age, for his 2nd
shearing. We hope he will be able to breed this year, otherwise,
2009 will be his first breeding year. We will be taking in to PacaFiesta in Sept 2008.
Beautiful friendly male with a very nice personality.
